Kerrville ISD is proud to announce the following schools have been named to the Inaugural 2015 Texas Honor Roll by the Educational Results Partnerships and the Institute for Productivity in Education:
Tivy High School
Hal Peterson Middle School
B.T. Wilson Sixth Grade School
Starkey Elementary School
Tally Elementary School
Texas schools were recognized for high levels of academic achievement, improvement over time, and reducing the achievement gap between minority students and Anglo students. Recognized high schools also have outstanding academic performance in the area of college readiness. According to the researchers, Honor Roll schools have identified a common set of success factors that include clear and specific learning objectives aligned to college and career readiness. Additionally, Honor Roll schools have evidenced-based instructional practices, establish a mission of college and career readiness for all students, invest in human capital, maintain data and assessment systems to monitor student and school performance and deploy resources to prepare students for college and careers.
